Compare the2027 Genesis GV70 VS 2027 Infiniti QX65

Both the GV70 and QX65 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The GV70 has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The QX65’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the GV70 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The GV70’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The QX65’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Genesis GV70 achieved a “Acceptable” rating - the second highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Infiniti QX65 has not been tested.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the GV70’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The QX65 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

Both the GV70 and QX65 have rear cross-traffic warning, but the GV70 has Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The QX65’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the GV70 and the QX65 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Genesis GV70 has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2026 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test, and an “Acceptable” score in the revised vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention test. The QX65 has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2026.

The GV70 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The QX65’s 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the GV70 4 years and 30,000 miles longer than Infiniti covers the QX65. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the QX65 ends after only 6 years or 70,000 miles.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Genesis vehicles are better in initial quality than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Genesis above average in initial quality. With 59 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is rated below average.

The GV70’s standard 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 32 more horsepower (300 vs. 268) and 25 lbs.-ft. more torque (311 vs. 286) than the QX65’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The GV70’s optional 3.5 turbo V6 produces 107 more horsepower (375 vs. 268) and 105 lbs.-ft. more torque (391 vs. 286) than the QX65’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the GV70 with its standard engine gets better fuel mileage than the QX65 (20 city/28 hwy vs. 20 city/26 hwy).

The GV70 has a standard locking fuel door, which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the QX65. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The GV70’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The QX65 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the GV70’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the QX65:

The GV70 Sport Prestige/Prestige Graphite’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the QX65 Autograph’s 45 series tires.

The GV70 offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The QX65’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The GV70’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (52% to 48%) than the QX65’s (55.7% to 44.2%). This gives the GV70 more stable handling and braking.

For better maneuverability, the GV70’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the QX65’s (37.7 feet vs. 38.7 feet).

For greater off-road capability the GV70 has a 1.43 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the QX65 (7.3 vs. 5.87 inches), allowing the GV70 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Genesis GV70 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 50 to 350 pounds less than the Infiniti QX65.

The GV70 is 1 foot shorter than the QX65, making the GV70 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The GV70 has 2.2 inches more rear headroom and 1.5 inches more rear legroom than the QX65.

The engine in the GV70 is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the QX65. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

The GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige/Prestige Graphite’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The QX65 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

Motor Trend selected the GV70 as their 2022 Sport Utility of the Year. The QX65 has never been chosen.
